Interview Assistance

Interviewing for a new job, promotion, or educational opportunity can be stressful – don't go through it alone! There are resources available online and in the community to help you have a successful interview.

Mock Interviews

Practice makes perfect! The Mesa County Workforce Center offers mock interviews, virtually and in-person, at no cost to you. These can be directed at a specific job you are applying for or created based on general interview questions. An Employment Specialist will create a list of questions and interview you, just as a "real" interview would be conducted. After the interview, staff will discuss your responses and offer feedback on your interviewing skills.

Preparing at Home

Interviewing is a skill that must be developed. You can improve your interviewing skills by practicing at home. Practice responding to common interview questions either by yourself or in a "mock interview" format with a family member or friend. It may be helpful to write out your responses to practice how you organize your thoughts. Take a video of yourself practicing, this can help you identify any body language quirks or issues with your delivery.
