The Healthcare field is perfect for people like you who are dependable, pay attention to details, listen well, observe emotional states, have a caring spirit and are good at problem-solving. Salary ranges currently go from about $21,216 a year to $35,376 a year, or $10.20 to $17 an hour. Employers may require proof of education credentials in this field, and employee background checks, depending on the employer and the workplace.
The Young Adult Career Development Program at the WFC can help you begin your career in Healthcare. We can provide tuition assistance for PCP and CNA course and work with you to find quality employment through a paid work experience or on the job training opportunities.
CNA is one of the fastest-training jobs in health care. You can become certified anywhere from three to six weeks of training.
Some individuals will use their knowledge as a CNA to bridge the gap to further their career and become a LPN or RN. Interestingly, a large number of CNAs are already in a nursing school program and use this career as a chance to learn more about the healthcare world and gain additional real world application and knowledge. Others become a CNA in order to determine if they want to continue to the next step in their healthcare journey.
CNAs can work in an inpatient hospital setting but are more commonly found in long-term care residential facilities, rehabilitation centers, and adult day care centers. They are rarely employed in outpatient office/clinic settings. These facilities all require nursing medical assistants (MA) to act as a liaison between the nurse and the patient.
"To whom it may concern,
I recently went through your career development program for my cna, the workforce center has helped me in so many different ways. The biggest way they have helped me was by setting me up with the job placement and getting me prepared for my testing. Suddenly something i was once uncomfortable with has become apart of my daily life and I love it now more than ever. Everything I learned in class I do at work on a daily basis. I felt more knowledgeable and prepared. I feel I was blessed to be able to work with Jennifer because she was super supportive and on top of things. I felt like a had a cheerleader in my corner cheering me on the whole way. I appreciate her for everything she’s done for myself and my family because now instead of having a job I’m making a career. Instead of stopping at my cna I want to climb the medical ladder so to speak and it’s because she had faith in me when I was just trying to make more than the minimum. I found passion in the medical field and I found motivation and determination when I was looking to settle. I would recommend this program to everyone and I have even referred some of my friends and coworkers to the program to better their lives. Thank you again to everyone at the workforce center who has worked hard for myself and everyone else trying to better their lives!
Sincerely, -- "
